New campaign for the GCC exclusive SUV takes Inspiration from the night sky
A father entranced by the night sky; a son reluctant to follow in his footsteps. The #ShineInTheDark campaign for the QX80 Black Edition follows Mohamad Talafha, a renowned astronomical observer at University of Sharjah, deep into the desert with his adolescent son.
This documentary-style campaign articulates an inspiring story of a father, son, and their shared cultural heritage. It emphasizes the remarkable design and exceptional features of the QX80 Black Edition, an SUV exclusive to the GCC region, through a story that associates the car with the timeless pursuit of stargazing, a local tradition that has endured for centuries.
Zaher Ayat, head of marketing at INFINITI Middle East said, “With the #ShineInTheDark campaign, we not only wanted to showcase the features of the QX80, but also tell a story that would inspire generations to come. Stargazing in the desert has stood the test of time, and we wanted to pay homage to this ritual synonymous with the region’s heritage.”
In this video, the INFINITI QX80’s commanding presence and elegant features are showcased under the captivating illumination of the stars. These include the signature double arch grille inspired by Japanese origami, 22-inch forged alloy wheels, and chrome accents. The QX80’s technologies, including onboard connectivity and drive-assist systems, make it the ideal nocturnal companion. In addition, its folding seats reveal a cargo area designed for adventure, allowing for ample space dedicated to camping or stargazing equipment.
