In its 101st year, MG Motor has taken centre stage at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show with the debut of three cutting-edge models: the Cyber X concept, the upgraded MG Cyberster MY 2026, and the exclusive Cyberster Black 101st Anniversary Edition. Together, they mark the official launch of MG's Cyber family line-up as the brand evolves for the digital age.
In another strategic leap forward, SAIC Motor, MG Motor’s parent company, has also announced a pioneering smart cabin collaboration with technology giant OPPO. Their first co-developed model, set to debut with MG, aims to redefine seamless human-machine integration and elevate the in-car experience.
Cyber X Concept: A Bold Fusion of Heritage and Futurism
The Cyber X concept car, introduced as an exploratory global design study, is positioned as a “global urban adventure toy”. Its expressive, symbolic styling language reflects the bold, adventurous attitudes of a new generation of consumers.
Designed by Jozef Kaban, the creative mind behind the Bugatti Veyron, Cyber X features a tall and confident silhouette, extremely short front and rear overhangs, and a striking sense of integration between form and surface. The result is a high-impact visual tension, blending city elegance with off-road ruggedness.
Finished in Stardust Gray, the surface evokes a matte sandstone texture while stationary, transforming into fluid ripples of light and shadow as it moves. A nod to classic pop-up headlights is seamlessly merged with aerodynamic enhancements, lending Cyber X a nostalgic yet sophisticated edge.
The model represents MG’s strategic evolution from racetrack roots to a broader lifestyle-led mobility vision. By addressing off-road, urban commuting, and leisure segments, the brand is expanding its appeal beyond traditional performance fans to a new generation of young-hearted drivers.

MG Cyberster Evolves with 2026 Refresh
The iconic Cyberster, widely regarded as the spiritual successor to the MGB and a breakthrough in the global electric sports car segment, returns in 2026 with a refreshed identity focused on enhanced driving pleasure. Since its launch, the Cyberster has helped to propel China’s electric sports car market share from 0 percent to 10 percent. With over 3,000 units delivered globally in just six months, it now stands as the world’s best-selling electric coupé.
The new model introduces two bold exterior colour options—Iris Blue and Andes Gray—alongside refined interior palettes in dual-tone Red/Black or Gray/White. Interior harmony is enhanced through colour-matched trim panels, while an innovative wind deflector reduces cabin turbulence by 90%, blending elegance with performance.
The Cyberster Black 101st Anniversary Edition, distinguished by its gloss black paint and chrome accents, adds further allure to the line-up, while the upcoming Cyber GTS hardtop variant will cater to enthusiasts seeking a more enclosed and dynamic driving experience.
MG×OPPO Smart Cabin: Redefining the "Third Space"
At the intersection of mobility and smart technology, SAIC Motor and OPPO, the well-renowned and global consumer electronics manufacturer, unveiled a forward-looking collaboration to co-develop an “Ecosystem Without Borders”. Their first joint model, integrated into MG’s upcoming vehicles, will deliver a revolutionary in-cabin experience.
The collaboration will enable seamless cross-device control, personalised AI-driven services, and an unprecedented fusion between smartphones and vehicles, creating what OPPO calls "a cockpit in your pocket".

A Vision Aligned with Global Innovation and Regional Ambitions
Tom Lee, MG Middle East’s Managing Director, said: “The unveiling of MG’s Cyber Family and the collaboration with OPPO signify an exciting evolution in the brand’s global innovative journey. As the Middle East advances its own transformation through national initiatives such as Saudi Vision 2030, Qatar National Vision 2030 and the UAE’s ‘Global EV Market’ project, it’s inspiring to witness how closely MG’s global direction aligns with the region’s broader push for smart mobility, sustainable technology, and digital integration.”
With the unveiling of the Cyber X concept, upgraded Cyberster MY 2026, and exclusive Cyberster Black 101st Anniversary Edition, MG is demonstrating its bold commitment to innovation, design, and intelligent connectivity, cementing its place as a trailblazer for the next century of driving.
