Fully equipped Land Rover Defender exhibited at S'hail - Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition
Alfardan Premier Motors Co., the official retailer of Jaguar Land Rover in the State of Qatar concluded its participation at the fifth edition of the Annual Katara International Hunting & Falcons Exhibition, known as S’hail, with a showcase of Land Rover’s latest fully equipped Land Rover Defender. The exhibition — which took place from 7-11 September — was organized by the Cultural Village Foundation and was attended by global companies from different countries.
S’hail is dedicated to preserving Qatar’s cultural heritage and exposes attendees to the rich legacy of hunting and falconry supported in parallel by events, awareness programs and environmental initiatives. Alongside these activities, Alfardan Premier Motors displayed Land Rover’s award-winning Defender. As Land Rover’s most durable 4x4, The Land Rover Defender is especially suitable for hunting and falconry. Its off-road capabilities and adequate space for necessary equipment make it the ideal outdoor companion.
During the exhibition, Alfardan Premier Motors also showcased The Land Rover’s branded goods collection. The high-quality collection offers an exclusive collection of accessories inspired by Land Rover’s vehicles and are designed to enhance adventures with a variety of terrains.
Samer Bou Dargham, General Manager for Alfardan Premier Motors, commented: “The Land Rover Defender has attracted considerable attention particularly from loyal Qatari customers of the brand, as hunting and falconry is a big part of Qatar’s culture. Through this exhibition, we wanted to showcase how the historical hunting and falconry experience could be made even more memorable with the powerful and convenient all-terrain vehicle, The Defender. The cars’ complex characteristics and features draw a strong sense of loyalty as all our Defender editions do.”
The new Defender is as technologically advanced as it is durable. It introduces Land Rover’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system. The next generation touchscreen is intuitive and user-friendly, requiring few inputs to perform frequently used tasks, while its always-on design guarantees almost instant responses.
A comprehensive supply of charging sockets throughout the cabin will keep occupants charged and connected at all times, whether using digital devices to stream music or camping accessories to provide home comforts in remote locations. Front-row occupants can choose from a pair of 12V power supplies and two USB sockets, one of which is located behind the central touchscreen – perfectly located to minimise trailing wires when used to power a dashcam.
In the second row, occupants have two USBs and a pair of 12V charging points and, when third-row seats are fitted, they come with a USB outlet and 12-volt socket. The loadspace also includes an additional 12-volt socket while a three-pin 230V domestic socket is also available.
Configurable Terrain Response debuts on the new Defender, allowing experienced off-roaders to finetune individual vehicle settings to perfectly suit the conditions, while inexperienced drivers can let the system detect the most appropriate vehicle settings for the terrain, using the intelligent ‘Auto’ function.
Meanwhile, the advanced Clear Sight Ground View technology helps drivers take full advantage of the Defender’s all-conquering capability, by showing the area usually hidden by the bonnet, directly ahead of the front wheels. This is achieved through the strategically placed cameras in front of the car which projects the vision that is in front of the wheels on the central touchscreen.
The Defender also offers multiple Accessory Packs including Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban – giving the Defender a unique character that is capable of conquering many terrains.
Established in 2017, S’hail is a globally recognized exhibition, considered the largest within the region, dedicated to preserve and promote the art of hunting and falconry. This exhibition has emerged as the international hub for hunting and falcon enthusiasts, attracting the Qatari public and prominent figures, such as government officials, VIPs, customers, as well as businesspeople.
