Alfardan Automobiles, official BMW Group importer in Qatar, hosts a track drive day for the new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Countryman at Losail International Circuit.

A collection of the most powerful MINIs in the brand’s 60-year history lit up the track during a test drive hosted by Alfardan Automobiles, the official BMW Group importer in Qatar.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Countryman were put through their paces at the Losail International Circuit on November 30.

Qatar’s motoring press and MINI customers in testing the limits of the brand-new sports models, getting the most from the outstanding Twin-Power Turbo engine and admiring design rich in racing pedigree.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Countryman have cemented their places in the leading line-up of compact sport models. They truly represent the ultimate performance in the MINI model range.

The Cooper name is synonymous with motoring excellence since legendary racing car maker and tuner John Cooper developed the original MINI Cooper in 1961.

The 225 kW/306 hp 4-cylinder turbo engine in the new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Countryman both display outstanding performance in the compact premium segment.

The MINI John Cooper Works Clubman turns in an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman achieving the same in 5.1 seconds – 1.4 and 1.5 seconds faster than in the respective previous models. Compared to the MINI Cooper S Clubman and MINI Cooper S Countryman, at output of 306 horsepower.

In both John Cooper Works models, the engine is combined as standard with a new 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission, including mechanical differential lock on the front axle, an ALL4 all-wheel drive system, a specifically engineered chassis, and additional reinforcement modifications for the body structure, engine connection and chassis fastenings. This enables the John Cooper Works racing sensation to reach a new level of performance.
