Doha Marketing Services Company W.L.L (DOMASCO), an Al-Futtaim company and the distributor for GAC Motor in Qatar, has launched the seven-seat SUV, the GS8 and the next-generation luxury sedan, the GA8 at an event held at The St. Regis Doha.
The event was attended by HE Li Chen, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the State of Qatar, Wang Shunsheng, Deputy General Manager, GAC Motor, Liu Haoyuan, Director of International Business Department, GAC Motor, Faisal Sharif, Managing Director of DOMASCO, Mohammed Majeed, Sales & Marketing Manager, GAC Qatar and other senior management from DOMASCO.
Speaking at the launch of the two models, Faisal Sharif, Managing Director of DOMASCO said: “The GS8 and GA8 are a result of years of research and development from GAC Motor’s and combines state-of-the-art technology and innovation. With the launch of these two models, we are now able to offer customers an even wider choice from GAC and welcome all our customers to test drive an experience these two amazing vehicles.”
GS8
The GS8 high-end SUV is powered by GAC Motor’s golden dynamic Ti POWER 320T engine and six-speed automatic gearbox. By applying the Chinese company’s second generation i-4WD 2.0 four-wheel drive system, the GS8 offers a powerful yet smooth ride across six driving modes: sandy roads, muddy roads, snowy roads, intelligent auto, sports, and ECO. It also applies the latest Bosch electronic stability program 9.1 (ESP 9.1) that improves the car's stability by detecting and reducing the loss of traction (skidding).
Other intelligent technology attributes include automatic tailgate opening and a series of auxiliary driving assistance systems for active and passive protection, such as emergency braking and lane departure warning.
The GS8's matrix-type LED headlights and U-shaped taillights generate a deep, multi-layered lighting effect and combine for an aggressive yet calm aesthetic, while the elegantly simple interior adopts a seven-seat, three-row layout and an ultra-size panoramic sunroof. Both the exterior and interior of the car are a testament to GAC Motor's ability to blend technical R&D strength and quality assurance with an upscale design.

The sedan features an all-around intelligent driving assistance system that can navigate, raise collision alerts and actively assist in braking. A 360-degree panorama visual imaging system makes driving and riding the GA8 much safer and easier.
The GA8 is powered by GAC Motor's second generation 320T engine which is supported by technologies such as a low-inertia e-Turbo turbocharger that can bring down 35 percent of inertia, GCCS combustion control that improves the combustion rate by 22 percent while lowering the gas consumption by 15 percent, as well as DCV VT double-span variable valve timing.
